About
Tanjenong Indigenous Corporation was incorporated in April 2016 under the Federal CATSI Act as a company required by law to be owned and controlled by a majority of people who are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Australian’s. All other companies are regulated by the The Australian Securities & Investments Commission.
We are located in the South Eastern Metro area of Melbourne's outer suburbs - specifically in Endeavour Hills and just up the hill from the historic Police Paddocks.
What we do
Our objective is to operate community enterprises, build a strong financial base for community development activities and infrastructure for the relief of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in benevolent need.
Benevolent needs include the relief of poverty, sickness, destitution, helplessness, distress, suffering, and misfortune.
Our mission is to generate jobs in significant numbers that are sustainable and meaningful. Service based jobs such as found in the hospitality industry and in aged care are an important part of our mission, however full-time vocational and industrial jobs, in our view, are the most difficult to obtain and they are our greatest focus.
